Hello there, Curious
A project to reward the curious, and connect with each other.
About Weekly Sticker Club.
I think one of our biggest problems is the fact that we as a society have grown scared of talking to each other. Growing up we are taught that talking to strangers will lead to bad things happening, but when has silence ever prevented a bad thing? In fact I believe that the silent act of closing ourselves off from our surroundings has prevented plenty of good things. Friendships, Opportunities and moments of Inspiration. Is there a world out there, that we will never know about, because we never dare to step outside?
This is how Weekly sticker club was born.
The idea of approaching a stranger with a plain button that reads “Ask me for a free sticker” is rather absurd if you think about it. By asking you admit that one, You were watching them closely enough to notice some text on their jacket or bag (caught you!) and two, Your curiosity got the best of you (as it should!) In some way one could say that you took a risk, you approached a stranger to ask for a sticker, and it landed you here. I hope that our brief encounter encourages you to explore this world, to be kind and more importantly to be open to the kindess of others!
Bad things happen anyways, but its up to you to seek out the good!
Go out and connect!
How it Works
You probably landed here in one of two ways. You followed a social media link, or encountered me on my daily out and about! The Mechanics of free sticker club are simple!
Every week i create a little drawing based off something that inspired me this week, some scenery, a string of words or a story i read, i Share the process and my thoughts in my newsletter, use my trusty print setup to print the stickers, package them and chuck them in my daybag. When i go out, I wear my trusty “ Ask me for a free sticker button” and hand out stickers upon request.
The previous design gets archived, as the new one makes its way into the world. Some people who see me frequently might ask for one every week, like a schoolmate, or a barista at the coffee shop i frequent. others may only encounter me only once, with this project being the only way to stay in touch. Not all Connections are permanent, some are brief and fleeting, only remaining as a fun memory, and that’s the beauty of it
